    Job Description

    FINANCIAL ANALYST – SCHAUMBURG, IL $75,000 - $85,000/Annually We are an independent research organization headquartered in Schaumburg, IL with additional offices in Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Bethesda, Maryland. With clients throughout the world, we collaborate with government agencies, foundations, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and businesses to provide the data and analysis that supports informed decision making in key areas including health, education, economics, crime, justice, energy, security, and the environment. With 70 years of leadership and experience in data collection, analysis, and dissemination—coupled with deep subject matter expertise, we provide the foundation for effective solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis while ensuring timely delivery to Senior Leadership and Operations Management.
    • Challenge costs, yield performance, and KPI metrics through continuous engagement and partnership with key stakeholders.
    • Provide financial support and insight on KPI target-setting and performance analysis, ensuring that the KPl's being tracked are contributing effectively to wider business performance goals.
    • Development of financial plans and models.
    • Analyze the business performance, including the profitability, revenue, and pricing for new and existing opportunities.
    • Review Customer and Vendor contracts and negotiate changes.
    • Work cross-functionally across the wider Daniels business with exposure to senior leadership on financial efficiencies.
    • Assist in developing, preparing, and presenting budgets and forecasts for the short and long term.
    • Identify and drive efficiencies to ensure contracts remain financially viable and are delivered on budget.
    • Partner with managers to drive overall financial performance.
    • Support the Sales and Operational initiatives by conducting analysis of commercial opportunities and providing visibility into key business drivers.
    • Evaluate proposals, monitor spend and review with the management team to ensure projects are delivered within the approved value.
    • Forecast and plan capital spend for the USA operations.
    • Problem solving commercial issues that may arise.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    • Bachelor’s degree qualified in Finance or Accounting with 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
    • High-energy, driven
    • Strong multi-tasking skills to work cross-functionally as required
    • Ability to identify issues and areas for improvement through analysis
    • Team orientated, with strong relationship and interpersonal skills
    • Advanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management abilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent numeracy skills
    • Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other financial packages
