CFO – Estate Management Services | Brydon Group Portfolio Company

Location: Southeast U.S. • Remote with ~20% travel
Pay: $185K to $250K base plus performance bonus and potential equity
    Schedule: Full-time, flexible business hours

The Brydon Group is a long-term, people-first investment firm that partners closely with management teams to build durable operating companies. Brydon is backing Estate Management Services (EMS) , a scaled, asset-heavy field services business providing aquatic, environmental, and stormwater management services across the Southeast.

EMS operates a multi-entity platform with significant equipment, field crews, and project-based work alongside recurring service revenue. We are leading the search for a CFO to help mature the finance function, strengthen cash discipline, and support the next phase of operational scale.

    Role Snapshot

Own the finance function for a multi-entity, asset-intensive services organization. This is a hands-on CFO role that blends strategic leadership with day-to-day execution. You will build systems, tighten controls, and create reliable forecasting and reporting for ownership and Brydon partners.

This role is well suited for a senior controller or VP of Finance ready to step into a first CFO seat in a PE-backed, build-stage environment.

    What You'll Do

    • Lead financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis across multiple entities and states

    • Own FP&A, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and scenario planning

    • Take primary responsibility for cash flow forecasting and working capital management across recurring and project-based revenue, including government AR cycles

    • Oversee accounting operations, compliance, and month-end close cadence

    • Manage CapEx planning, equipment financing, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules

    • Build and improve financial controls, policies, and reporting processes that reflect real field operations

    • Partner with ownership and Brydon Group on capital planning and tuck-in acquisitions, with a focus on post-close financial integration and reporting

    • Hire, develop, and lead a lean finance team as the business scales

    Must-Haves

    • CPA or MBA

    • 10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience

    • Experience operating in a private equity–backed or investor-owned environment

    • Proven background in asset-heavy accounting, CapEx planning, and equipment-intensive operations

    • Demonstrated ownership of FP&A, cash forecasting, and data-driven financial planning

    • Track record of upgrading financial systems, reporting, or controls in a growing business

    • Strong understanding of GAAP, cash flow dynamics, and multi-entity consolidation

    • Willingness to travel regionally around 20 percent

    Nice-to-Have

    • Experience in field services, construction, environmental services, or property-related operations

    • ERP implementation or migration experience (NetSuite, Intacct, or similar)

    • Exposure to post-acquisition finance integration

    Perks & Pay

    • $185K to $250K base plus bonus and potential equity

    • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

    • 401(k)

    • PTO and paid holidays

    • Flexible hybrid work setup

    Schedule & Setup

    • Full-time, standard business hours with flexibility

    • Remote with regular site visits across the Southeast

    • Preference for proximity to Tampa (FL), Brunswick (GA), or Charleston (SC), but open to strong remote candidates willing to travel

    Impact & Growth

This is not a purely strategic role. You will stay close to the numbers, the cash, and the field. Your work will bring structure, predictability, and insight to a complex operating business where finance directly impacts execution.

You will partner closely with leadership to improve forecasting accuracy, strengthen working capital discipline, modernize systems, and support long-term value creation.

Apply Today to lead and modernize the finance function for a growing, Brydon-backed estate management services business.
