STAFF ACCOUNTANT - STUDENT ACCOUNTS
The Student Accounts Processor is responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance of student accounts and administrative support as assigned. The Student Accounts Processor reports directly to the Sr. Director of Student Accounts & Revenue Management.
Specific areas of responsibility and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Timely posting of tuition and fees
- Post non-institutional charges and payments such as transcript fees, additional books and scrubs, etc to student accounts.
- Complete the monthly revenue recognition process in CampusVue by the 5th business day of each month.
- Assist with month-end close of accounts receivable.
- Assist in the review and approval process of all awards for discounts to ensure compliance with company policy.
- Assist in the review and approval process of all extended payment plans to ensure compliance with company policy.
- Posts financial aid disbursement batches and submit electronic files to servicer for the delivery of Receipt Notification and Rights to Cancel letters for applicable Title IV Federal aid.
- Assist with deposit and refund reconciliations.
- Maintain accounts receivable data and keep receivables current utilizing various reports such as the Student Account Balance, Remaining Balance to Schedule, Expected Cash Flow and Past Due Cash Flow reports.
- Prepare invoices for third-party vendors quarterly and updates CampusVue Payment Schedule (VocRehab, WIA, military tuition assistance, etc.)
- Work with the corporate collections team to identify drop/graduate students who have returned to school and made arrangements for a prior balance.
- Generate monthly statements for online delivery through the Student Portal.
- Assist with year-end financial audit and other periodic agency reviews and audits.
- Prepare annual 1098-T forms.
- Perform all other duties as specified by the Sr. Director of Student Accounts & Revenue Management.
Educational Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years post-secondary education; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- A degree in accounting is a plus
Experience Requirements
- 2-3 years bookkeeping experience
- Experience with Great Plains or other accounting software a plus
- Experience with CampusVue, Campus Nexus, Web Client a plus
- Experience with Federal Title IV programs and administration a plus
