    Job Description

    CHE is a premier provider of behavioral health services in 14 states and continues to grow into new markets. CHE has been operating since 1995 and employs over 800 psychology and psychiatry providers to deliver care virtually and in person at various care settings. We deliver a unique programmatic approach to behavioral health services and are focused on quality and compliance for facilities and in our outpatient settings.

    We are seeking a Payment Posting Specialist to join our team full time.

    • Post claims receipts within 48 hours into the patient management system using accurate receipt date.
    • Analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to identify denials, payments and recoupments.
    • Research unapplied payments, overpayments and under payments to identify the correct processing procedure for the payment.
    • Post recoupments into patient management system using accurate recoupment date.
    • Submit secondary and tertiary insurance bills.
    • Prepares refund requests.
    • Reconciles cash posting batches daily.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA and all health regulations.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality.
    • Coordinate with other revenue cycle departments for follow up on claim denials.
    • Other reasonable job duties as assigned

    Detail oriented, highly organized with the ability to work in high volume, fast paced environment. Ability to accurately calculate payment variances and determine percentages of payment using advanced mathematical skills to determine payments, contractual allowances and partial payments.

    The ability to solve problems on misidentified payments, missing information and payments with missing information. Enjoy resolving problems, identifying the root cause and providing feedback to eliminate the mistake or improve the process. Should have written skills for email correspondences and verbal communication skills for in-person and phone contacts.

    Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to create, managed and manipulate workbooks. Experience with Gmail, Microsoft Word, PDF files, Image management and handling. Customer service oriented with interaction with internal and external customers. Excellent work ethic and commitment to job responsibilities

     

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of one year of work in a billing, intake, or A/R medical billing office Experience
    • Experience in processing, interpreting and understanding insurance company
    • Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) preferred.
    • Minimum of one (1) year in medical insurance authorizations, medical billing collections or another relevant role.
    • Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid remittance and payments preferred.
    • Experience working with commercial insurance carriers (Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare, etc.) knowledge
    • Knowledge and experience in the payment cycle and processes cycle for third party insurance billing.
    • Knowledge of medical codes, third party payment codes, denial codes, remittance remarks and remittance codes.
    • Working knowledge of HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, and insurance authorizations and denials
