The Position:
The Design Specialist is responsible for collaborating with the Design Manager on the overall design and maintenance of finished selections, signage and décor for facilities. This position will serve as a subject matter expert, support drawing production, review processes for remodel projects, new store construction and special projects. The Design Specialist will collaborate with internal and external business partners to understand design needs and identify solutions.
Primary Objectives:
Collaborate on the design, approval, assist with purchasing decisions, delivery schedules, and materials. This role will also assist with services related to signage and décor items
Develop and maintain color palette(s) and design guide plans
Build and maintain a library of product samples and ensure optimization of designer discounts and national account service and pricing agreements
Core Duties/Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
Develop and maintain color palette(s) and design guide plans
Review and update design criteria and related standards and specifications
Create site specific “look” books to help support the production of construction documents and to serve as a visual aid, during project execution
Collaborate on design layouts, block & fixture layout approvals, purchasing decisions, delivery coordination, and installation scheduling of materials and services related to signage and décor
Build and maintain a library of product samples and ensure optimization of designer discounts and national account service and pricing agreements
Remain current on fitness design and fitness industry trends; providing recommendations accordingly
Provide responses for RFIs
Assist in the production of design documents for remodels and other special projects
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, engineering or a related field
Five (5) years interior design experience in the fitness, retail or restaurant industry
Demonstrate strong PC skills, including proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat and the primary Microsoft Office applications
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Compliance with all Chuze Fitness policies and procedures
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively convey detailed information to a diverse population
