    THE ROLE - What you would be doing!

    The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for receiving and processing vendor invoices and managing vendor relations. Each invoice is analyzed for mathematical accuracy, coded to the appropriate GL account and project and assigned to the corresponding business unit in the accounting system once proper approval has been obtained.

    • Analyze/review/code/enter/file invoices for a high volume of vendors

    • Communicate and manage relationships with vendors, departments, and clubs

    • Vendor account reconciliations

    • Create and process purchase orders for approval

    • Participate in the execution of month-end closing process

    • Assist in year-end financial audits (gathering supporting documentation)

    • Work on special projects as needed

    • Report discrepancies timely

    • Meet tight deadlines SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - What you will need to have for success in this role • Minimum 1 year of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience required

    • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of some college with a focus in business and/or accounting • Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy

    • Understanding of basic accounting functions (P&L, B/S, journal entries)

    • Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking but also just loves to figure stuff out

    • Experience in accounting software

    • Experience with multiple locations

    • Proficient in MS Office Suite and/or Google Workspace preferred

    • Exceptional time management skills

    • High degree of integrity

    This position reports to the Director of Accounting and would be primarily located on site at our San Diego main office. There will also be opportunities to partially remote.A background check is required for this position.
