This role will be an invaluable part of our foundation for success, and we are excited to welcome you into our CHUZE family.THE ROLE - What you will be doing to take us to the next level Your role is to lead the organization’s Accounting Operations department. You do more than just maintain the integrity, and compliance of our financial reporting, regulatory responsibilities, tax, and treasury activities. The breadth and depth of your role is broad. It intersects with most teams, so it is cross-functional in nature. This involves working closely with the Business Planning and Analysis arm of the Finance team to deliver accurate and actionable management reporting and understand the root causes of variances from our financial targets (favorable and unfavorable). You will own the corporate transactional operations ecosystem. • As the Controller, you have total ownership of, and responsibility for, all transactional processes which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, T&E, general accounting, treasury, taxes, and inventory accounting, among others. Your technical knowledge and proven experience in these areas is the price of entry. You are obsessed with driving efficiency. • You are responsible for driving a transformational change agenda that optimizes our processes, leverages technology and automation to maximize efficiency and deliver economies of scale. • You are expected to always be looking for ways to drive productivity and cost efficiencies through process optimization and automation. • Our company is growing in scale and complexity. We need you to deliver sustained economies of scale and optimize the cost efficiency of the department without sacrificing the need to increase our functionality and nimbleness. You will keep a keen eye on controlling cost. • You are responsible for developing policies and procedures, systems, processes, and metrics to make sure that costs are under control. • You are a master at creating and maintaining strong internal controls and compliance that work-well with the demands and outcomes we expect from Operations and all other support functions. This means that the design, development and testing of the effectiveness of each control, understanding and incorporating the needs of an entrepreneurial but perfectly governed organization in growth-mode. • You own the execution, timeliness, and integrity of our monthly closing process. We are counting on you to always look for ways to streamline the process and provide the results sooner than we are currently able to. We count on your ability to adapt to ensure our bookkeeping and financial reporting evolves with the needs of a growing, entrepreneurial organization.You will keep us compliant, audit ready, and squeaky clean. • Obviously, we are counting on your technical skills and leadership to stay on top of GAAP, treasury and tax developments and make the necessary changes to keep us compliant and audit ready. Your relationship with our external auditors is imperative. We expect you to manage the annual audit process collaboratively and on-time. YOU – This is who we are looking for. Ability to have fun and bring a sense of humor to work.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - What you will need to be considered for this important role • A CPA and a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting operations transformation experience is required. • BS or BA in Finance or Accounting, or another analytical field. • Strong systems skills – advanced knowledge of ERP systems, ideally NetSuite is required. Of course, you also must master Excel as a reporting and analysis tool. • Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to convey complex issues in a simple manner. Power-Point power-user is ideal. • Excellent skills with data analytics with the ability to draw concise insights from large sets of data. • Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking. This position reports to the CFO and is located at our headquarters in San Diego. Being present on site 4 days per week is a requirement. *Chuze Fitness is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
