  • Responsibilities

    The Lead Field Technician will travel on site to customer locations throughout the U.S. to plan, initiate, and manage information technology low voltage installation projects to include all aspects of A/V and IT for new builds and remodels. In addition to installation of low voltage cable and electronic equipment, the successful Lead Field Technician will guide the work of technical staff and contractors and monitor progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Lead Field Technicians represent CieloIT values and standards in all aspects and at all times to ensure customer satisfaction and quality projects. This position requires a highly motivated, detail oriented individual with a good work ethic. 

    This position works remotely, and can live in any city with access to a major airport. All work will be performed at customer location requiring 80% travel.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

    • Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; position and terminate cables, wires and strapping
    • Configure and wire network racks
    • Install electronic equipment, components, or systems
    • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures
    • Confer with superintendent and other vendors at the job site to ensure all details are considered and accounted for
    • Direct or coordinate activities of subcontracted help onsite
    • Efficiently source materials locally
    • Execute Statement of Work established and adhere to Cielo quality standards at all times
    • Work as on-site lead for installation and completion of projects
    • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends and updating project management software daily
    • Identify need for initial or supplemental project resources
    • Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and scope
    • Monitor or track project milestones and deliverables within project management software
    • Collaborate with other team members regarding new ways to efficiently deploy projects
    • Submit expense reports and manage documentation

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

    • Knowledge of relevant safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
    • Ability to identify problems and evaluate solutions or alternate approaches
    • Ability to effectively communicate
    • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawing
    • Knowledge of basic office software such as email

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or the equivalent
    • Minimum of two years of network cabling and termination experience
    • Minimum of two years of audio/visual installation experience
    • Two years of experience in the IT field, preferred
    • Advanced networking experience
    • Proven organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
    • Two years of management and leadership experience preferred
    • Current driver’s license and ability to get US Passport
    • Must provide own basic tools
    • Must be flexible with schedule and have reliable transportation

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • All work will be performed on location, typically in new construction commercial environment
    • This job requires traveling to multiple locations throughout the U.S. and possibly internationally
    • Most jobs require 7 - 10 days of travel at a time (or less)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be able to perform the following:

    • Lift up to 50 pounds
    • Stand, climb, and bend for extended periods of time
    • Stoop, kneel, reach, stand, grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
