Reports To: Deputy General Counsel, CIG Energy
ROLE OVERVIEW
CIG Energy is seeking a Corporate & Transactional Counsel with 3–5 years of experience to
support the legal needs of a rapidly scaling, vertically integrated renewable energy
platform. This role reports directly to the CIG Energy General Counsel and supports
drafting, negotiating, and executing corporate, commercial, and project-level agreements
that enable secure, reliable, and 100% American-made energy solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review, and negotiate corporate and commercial agreements including M&A, EPC,
supply, and financing documents.
- Support utility-scale solar and battery energy storage transactions.
- Handle corporate governance matters including LLC agreements and bylaws.
- Advise management on legal risk and transactional strategy.
- Coordinate with Development, Capital Markets, EPC, and Operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage complex matters independently with high quality and timeliness.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Utility-scale solar and/or BESS transactional experience.
- Familiarity with FERC, ERCOT, NERC frameworks preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- Member in good standing of a U.S. state bar.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong team-oriented mindset.
