Job Summary

The Foster and Adoptive Home Study Writer responsibilities will include conducting full home studies and/or addendums for CK Family Services. He/she must possess stellar writing skills, provide excellent customer service, and must have strong assessment skills. In addition, he/she must be able to provide transportation and travel to meet with families at their availability. The ability to meet established timelines is required.The ideal candidate is required to possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in r Human Services or other related field. Home Study writing experience is a plus. This would be an ideal position for students, social work, LPC interns or teachers looking for extra work in the evenings or on weekends.

Responsibilities

Conducts thorough screenings, reports, and assessments, ensuring they meet DFPS Minimum Standards and are of high quality.

Participate in training required by CK Family Services in order to perform the work.

Maintain professional contact with CK staff.

Maintain compliance with all CK policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements including all state and federal laws.

Maintain confidentiality as required by government law and regulations.

Travel within DFW area, as assigned and agreed upon.

Able to develop repour to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Qualifications

Requires basic understanding of a specialized area within a comprehensive field of knowledge normally acquired through four years of high school; one to three years of college or vocational school, or equivalent experience preferred; bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum one year related experience, plus one year of managerial experience preferred.

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree program required; Completion of a Master’s degree program preferred.

At least one year of related writing experience required.

Professional demeanor and appearance required.

Able to speak, read and write English proficiently.

Able to handle multiple tasks; a self-starter who is energetic and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Able to deal with a variety of adults and children with a range of personalities and problems.

Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Good character, personal attributes, and mannerisms to be a good adult role model for clients and families.

Able to understand and relate to multiple ideas and the concepts/theories behind the ideas.

Able to improve written skill set to meet the needs of the work.

Personality attuned to the requirements of meeting needs of clients and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
