  • Responsibilities

    CMC has an immediate need for an Operator I (Swing Shift) at our growing electronic chemical plant in Hollister, CA. The Operation’s position is responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing processes which include distillation units, operating PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers), blending solvents, ownership of detailed filled batch cards and coordination of tank wagon assignment.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    o Usage of PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers)

    o Knowledge of distillation process

    o Blending various solvents

    o Communication and coordination of tank wagons

    o Attention to detail in following procedures

    o Attention to detail in filling batch cards

    o Automated and Manual container fill process

    o Provides support in labeling containers

    o Communicates clearly by email or in person to all supporting departments

    o Drives Forklifts

    o Active participate as member of a Safety Elements team

    o Provides support to Maintenance teams

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

    o Experience in production or warehouse environments

    o Good communications skills; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organization

    o Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions, schematics and directions

    o Ability to read and understand safety procedures, including OSHA standards and regulations

    o Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to work with fractions and perform various mathematical conversions commonly used in petrochemical industry

    o Basic computer knowledge and user ability including database systems and other programs and applications used at location

    o Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments

    o Understanding of general business concepts

    o Must be able to work varying and/or rotating shifts

    o Experience with rotating equipment

    o Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

    o High School Diploma or GED required.

    o Works well with other and demonstrate a great safety and work ethic

    o Minimum three to five years of experience in chemical plant or similar environment

    o Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This position requires an employee to be exposed to inside and outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 100°+ and some exposure to cold of generally no less than -10° in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. The employee will enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments, potentially for lengthy periods of time. Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. Loud sounds and vibrations could be experienced at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.

    SCHEDULE, ENVIRONMENT, BENEFITS

    • Monday - Friday, 12pm-8:30pm
    • $20 per hour
