  • Responsibilities

    The CNC System Setup Operator manages and operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines for creating machined products. They are responsible for maintaining records, managing equipment and supplies, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Arrange and run CNC machines following work instructions, engineering drawings, and machine programs, while maintaining the specified tolerances.
    • Conduct intricate machining tasks on diverse metals and parts with high precision.
    • Alter tooling and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
    • Maintain product quality by adhering to operator-established quality standards and using measuring equipment.
    • Perform regular maintenance and follow maintenance schedules.
    • Complete hand-finishing tasks as necessary.
    • Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP/GDP) and complete job routers/cards.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement, prioritize tasks, and meet productivity targets.
    • Keep accurate records using the job tracking system.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Notify supervisors of manufacturing issues and participate in their resolution.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area according to 5S/housekeeping standards.
    • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: High School diploma or GED; Associate's degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.
    • Experience: 0-5 years of experience, preferably in a production environment.
    • Skills: Proficient in operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machines. Strong math skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Basic computer skills.
    • Attributes: Safety-conscious, reliable, team player. Problem-solving and organizational skills. Demonstrated commitment to quality and on-time production.

    • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
    • G-Code
    • M-Code
    • Machine Setups for Production Runs
    • Manual Machining Skills

    Machines & technologies you'll use:

    • CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)
    • CNC Lathe (2-4 axis)
    • CAM Software
    • CNC Swiss Lathe
    • CNC Lathe (5+ axis)

    Salary info:

    $18.50 - $23 / hr
