CNC Lathe Operator

Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts according to specifications and blueprints
- Set up and adjust machine controls, tooling, and workholding devices for various production runs
- Measure finished parts using traditional non-digital measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality standards and detect potential issues
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC lathe equipment
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently
- Document production data and maintain accurate records of completed work
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality targets
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating machinery in manufacturing, construction, or similar industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency with non-digital measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and geometric calculations
- Willingness to learn CNC programming and advanced machining techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with CNC machines or manual lathes
- Vocational training or coursework in machining or manufacturing
- Familiarity with different types of metals and cutting tools
