Are you ready to build something that lasts and have fun doing it? We’re Stubborn Mule, a precision machine shop specializing in defense, commercial, and environmental industries. Our team is detail-oriented, results-driven, and collaborative and we’re looking for more skilled (or eager-to-learn) CNC Operators to grow with us.

Whether you’re experienced or just getting started, if you have a strong work ethic and an eye for detail, we’ll provide the on-the-job training to help you succeed.

🔧 What You’ll Do

Operate CNC machines to craft precision parts with care and accuracy.

Read & interpret blueprints, instructions, and specs — because precision starts with understanding the plan.

Load & unload castings and raw materials (safely and efficiently).

Inspect finished parts using gauges and measuring tools to meet exacting tolerances.

Monitor machine operations, adjust offsets, and swap out worn tools when needed.

Keep your workstation clean, organized, and safe — we take pride in our space.

Perform basic machine maintenance & cleaning to keep things running smooth.

👀 What We’re Looking For

We’re open to both experienced operators and motivated learners. Ideally, you’ll bring:

1–2 years of CNC machining experience (not required if you’re willing to learn!)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints & work instructions.

Familiarity with gauges, micrometers, calipers & other measuring tools.

Understanding of tool offsets, fixturing, and material handling.

Awareness of safety protocols & commitment to quality (bonus if you know AS9100 standards).

Basic math skills (fractions, percentages, ratios).

Ability to stand for long periods & lift up to 40 lbs.

Comfort working in a moderately noisy, fast-paced environment.

🕒 Schedule & Pay

Full-Time, 4-day workweeks (10-hour shifts — hello, 3-day weekends!)

Monday–Saturday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM or 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (some weekends required)
