Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain conventional and CNC machining equipment used to fabricate metal and non-metal components. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to read and interpret detailed engineering documentation. The CNC Machinist will support production needs by ensuring all parts meet required specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines, conventional machines, and machining centers
- Review blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements
- Measure and mark materials to guide machining processes
- Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials
- Adjust machine controls to regulate speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut
- Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions
- Verify finished workpieces meet all specifications and quality standards
- Install machined parts in equipment and test for proper fit and operation
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and production personnel to resolve machining or assembly issues
- Write CNC programs for lathes and mills as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 months of related machining experience or equivalent training
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Strong mathematical skills, including geometry, algebra, and basic calculations
- Ability to solve practical problems and work with non-standardized instructions
- Strong communication skills and ability to complete written documentation
- Understanding of machining processes, measuring tools, and machine controls
