    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Set up, run, and adjust CNC turning machines, Swiss automatics, and screw machines.
    • Edit CNC programs at the machine and make offset, tooling, and parameter changes as required.
    • Program and edit CNC code (G-code), and work with CAD/CAM software like Mastercam, Fusion 360, or Solid CAM.
    • Independently diagnose and correct dimensional, finish, or concentricity issues
    • Produce first-article-approved parts and maintain consistency throughout the production run.
    • Read and interpret complex blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T.
    • Apply shop math (fractions, decimals, geometry, basic trigonometry) to correct size and location issues.
    • Select the correct measuring tools and verify part accuracy at multiple stages of production.
    • Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and vision/CMM systems confidently.
    • Change tooling, adjust fixtures, and optimize cycle times and tool life.
    • Work closely with quality and engineering when process improvements are needed.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

    Machines You’ll Work With: (Experience with some is expected)

    • CNC Lathes with live tooling, sub-spindles, and twin turrets (Miyano, Mori Seiki, Nakamura, Ganesh)
    • CNC Swiss automatics (Citizen L-Series, A-Series)
    • Multi-spindle & single-spindle screw machines (Wickman, Davenport, Brown & Sharpe)
    • CNC Milling machines (Haas, Kitamura, Fadal)
    • Advanced inspection equipment, including CMM and vision systems
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Experience with tight-tolerance, high-precision components using live tooling, Y-axis, C-axis, sub-spindles, and twin-turret machines.
    • Understands Material capabilities: Aluminum alloys, Stainless steel, Carbon and alloy steels, Brass and copper alloys
    • Experience with plastics or specialty materials is a plus
    • 4+ years of hands-on CNC and multi-spindle screw machines experience
    • Ability to set up machines, not just operate them
    • Comfortable making size, offset, and tooling corrections without supervision
    • Strong blueprint reading and tolerance comprehension
    • Confident use of precision measuring tools (not just holding them)
    • Willingness to take ownership of part quality and machine performance
    • Formal schooling is not required if you have 6 years of real-world machining experience.
