Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill Set-Up Operator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and preparing CNC milling machines to produce high-precision parts according to blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up CNC milling machines (vertical/horizontal) for production runs, including tooling, fixtures, and program loading
Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T to ensure accurate setups
Monitor machines during operation to ensure parts are produced to specification
Troubleshoot and resolve machining or setup issues as they arise
Maintain clean and organized work area following 5S principles
Work closely with programmers, operators, and quality inspectors to ensure smooth workflow
Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines
Document setup processes and update setup sheets as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus
2+ years of experience in CNC milling machine setup
Strong knowledge of G-code and machine offsets
Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators
Solid understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
