CNC Multi-Axis Machinist (Lathe or Milling)
This role involves multi-axis machining, tight tolerance work, and interpreting complex blueprints and GD&T specifications. The machinist will work closely with engineering, programming, and quality teams in an AS9100 certified environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or CNC milling machines with multi-axis capability (4th axis / live tooling)
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
Perform tool changes, offsets, and in-process inspections
Verify parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, dial bore gauges, etc.)
Machine titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain tight tolerances
Support first article inspections (FAI) and in-process quality checks
Maintain accurate AS9100 documentation and shop records
Collaborate with programmers and engineers to improve tooling and cycle times
Perform basic preventative maintenance and maintain a safe, organized workspace
Assist with material handling, saw cutting, and shop workflow as needed
Requirements
High School Diploma (trade school or apprenticeship preferred)
3–5+ years CNC machining experience
Experience operating CNC mills, CNC lathes, or both
Experience with multi-axis machining (4th axis or live tooling)
Strong understanding of G-code, feeds and speeds
Ability to read complex blueprints and GD&T
Proficiency with precision measuring tools
Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing preferred
Ability to troubleshoot machining issues independently
