    Job Description

    The CNC Programmer role combines advanced programming, manufacturing engineering, and hands-on CNC machining support. This position is responsible for developing complete manufacturing processes, including tooling design, setup methods, and optimized cutting strategies. The Programmer creates high-quality numerical control (NC) programs for various machine platforms, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability.

    In addition to programming duties, this role works directly on the shop floor to troubleshoot machining issues, validate processes, collaborate with machinists, and operate CNC machines when needed to support production. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, technical communication, and the ability to work effectively in both an office and a CNC manufacturing environment

    What will my responsibilities include?

    • Analyzes drawings, sketches, customer supplied engineering, and 3D Datasets to determine order of operations, method of manufacturing, cutting tool selection, machine center, and machine cutting parameters.
    • Assess labor requirement and develop materials budgets.
    • Review MRP quoted runtimes and Material to support engineering and manufacturing requirements.
    • Coordinate, design and implement machining processes to produce parts per customer requirements.
    • Determines method of work holding and optimal machine cutting paths.
    • Uses Siemens NX software to produce numerical code required to machine parts on all 3, 4 and 5 axis machines currently at Damar.
    • Uses Catia Software to interpret customer engineering and quality requirements.
    • Uses Vericut to validate programs prior to releasing programs to the shop floor.
    • Uses Kubotek Validate to verify model authority dataset translations
    • Uses MasterCam software to program Mill Turn and Swiss machine tools
    • Creates set up sheets and cutter lists for setup and operation of machine.
    • Creates all tooling drawings and coordinates with planning for tooling work orders.
    • Observes operation of machine as needed to prove out programs on the machine center.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing, and quality personnel as needed on technical issues.
    • Revises programs to eliminate quality errors and or set up sheet instruction errors.
    • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, and quality control standards.
    • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    What key skills and experience do I need?

    • Advanced to Basic Math skills.
    • Proficient in GD&T and Blueprint reading.
    • Detail oriented. Accuracy a must.
    • Able to work independently and multi task.
    • Must be flexible with ability to prioritize as needed.
    • Knowledge of machine cutting tools and feeds and speeds selection.
    • Must have a positive attitude.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with suppliers and customers.
    • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 4 years of CAD/CAM numerical control 3,4, and 5 axis programming experience.
    • 5 years of CNC Machine setup and operation is required
    • Siemens NX, Vericut and Catia software knowledge are required.
    • On Machine Probing experience is a plus.
    • MasterCam Lathe Programming is a Plus.
    • Autodesk Inventor HSM experience is a plus.
    • OMAX Make Waterjet programming experience is a plus.
    • Knowledge of general manufacturing engineering and CNC machining practices, manual machining, and tooling/fixturing required.
    • Experience with set up and run of NC Machines required.
    • ERP “Vantage Epicore” software knowledge is a plus.
    • Experienced in using office equipment/software is required.
    • Punctuality and ability to work additional hours to achieve required tasks.
    • Willingness to learn.
    • Ability to follow direction, processes, and procedures.

    Salary Offering: $39.00 per hour to $50.00 per hour

    Shift: Tue - Fri, 5:00am - 3:30pm
