    Job Description

    The Opportunity:

    The CNC Operator will work with our set building team to provide high quality, dynamic set pieces for trade show installations, as well as sets for commercial and still photography shoots. This position is responsible for choosing innovative cutting solutions using computer software and maintaining a safe work environment. The candidate will be using software and the CNC to cut a wide variety of materials for miniature stage sets, full sized museum displays, custom signage, cabinets, and show-support carpentry. Computer literacy is required for opening and managing cut files, communication, and implementation of cut strategies using Vcarve Pro CNC software. They will work with shop leads, welders, miniature model builders, carpenters and project leads with prioritizing work and addressing quality issues in a rapid paced, production-focused environment.

    The role will report to the Supervisor and will work at Headquarters in El Segundo, CA.

    What Your Impact Will Be:

    • Computer competency: Vcarve Pro CNC software, Adobe CC Suite (Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, etc.), Microsoft Office 360 (Outlook, Word, & Excel), frequent data entry.
    • Experience with operating CNC routers AXYZ or Esko/Kongsberg a plus.
    • Perform maintenance and service of CNC machine.
    • Report and manage inventory: stock substrates, consumables, and media.
    • Create status and progress reports.
    • This is a highly physical job that will require loading and unloading of the machine with heavy materials exceeding 50 lbs, participating in team lifts of heavy products and abiding by all safety guidelines.
    • Keep work area safe and clean.

    • Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree/trade certificate preferred or 1 - 3 years’ experience in related field

    • Passion for their work and commitment to delivering first in class assets

    • Team player who thrives on collaboration

    • Detail oriented and ability to translate design ideas to the final product

    • Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs.) while stocking supplies and moving scenery

    • Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends

    • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

    *The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
