CNC Programmer Responsibilities
- Generate and optimize CNC programs for large, complex project-based fabrications and machined parts
- Review engineering prints and technical specifications to select and acquire appropriate tooling
- Create, catalog, and maintain CNC program libraries and standard machine setup procedures
- Determine optimal machining sequences, fixturing methods, and setup requirements
- Schedule routine equipment preventative maintenance and coordinate with service technicians for repairs
- Collaborate with shop-floor machinists to troubleshoot program execution on large-scale 5-axis machines, including VTL and HBM equipment
- Assist engineering and estimating teams with cycle time analysis and project quoting
- Perform digital simulations and trial runs using Digital Twin software to validate machine settings and tool paths
- Inspect and measure machined components using precision measuring equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Mentor and provide technical training to developing machinists on setup procedures and machining techniques
CNC Programmer Reporting Relationships
This position reports directly to the Machine Shop Manager and does not have any direct supervisory reports.
