About Us Artisan Machining in Ronkonkoma, NY is a Veteran-Owned Small Business providing precision CNC machining for a wide range of industries. We specialize in horizontal milling with full CAD/CAM programming, producing everything from tight-tolerance stainless and aluminum parts to quick-turn prototypes and high-volume production.
Position Overview We’re hiring an experienced CNC Programmer / Set-Up Machinist for horizontal machining. The ideal candidate can program and set up multiple new parts each week, work independently, and take ownership of quality, productivity, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Program horizontal CNC machines using Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar software
Perform full setups: tooling, work offsets, fixtures, and probing
Manage multiple setups per week for prototype and short-run production
Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and setup documentation
Optimize toolpaths, workholding, and cycle times
Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues independently
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications
5+ years of CNC programming and setup experience on horizontal machining centers
Experience with Haas, Mazak, Doosan, or Kitamura equipment
Proficiency in Mastercam, Fusion 360, or comparable CAD/CAM software
Strong understanding of G-code, tooling, and fixturing
Experience machining aluminum and stainless steels
U.S. work authorization required
