Summary
The CNC Programmer is responsible for interpreting blueprints, developing efficient machining processes, and programming CNC equipment to produce high-quality parts. This role involves determining the best machining approach, utilizing Mastercam software, selecting proper tooling, establishing speeds and feeds, and performing final inspection. The CNC Programmer must communicate effectively with machinists to ensure smooth hand-off of completed programs, setups, and process instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Design and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure machinability of new product designs and fixturing requirements.
- Establish accurate methods for part processing, machine tooling, and fixture setups to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Create CNC programs, develop fixturing, and support machine setups.
- Set up CNC equipment, select tooling, input offsets, and validate new programs through test runs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, new tooling concepts, and workflow enhancements.
- Interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) on engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Communicate clearly with machinists to provide setup instructions, tooling needs, and inspection requirements.
- Support production with updates and troubleshooting for existing programs.
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in CNC machining and programming.
- Proficiency with Mastercam, 3D modeling, and SolidWorks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and manage a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

- Frequently required to speak and listen.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
