Job Summary CNC Setup Machinists quickly and accurately setup assigned machines to support the schedule. Operate and maintain all assigned machines and perform required and advanced retooling when required.
Education and Experience HS Diploma/GED and 2-4 Years of Experience
Knowledge Able to read part drawings, understand production processes, quality control, and cost efficiency. Trained to use precision measuring tools like micrometers, drop indicators, and gauges.
Skills Skills in learning, listening, critical thinking, and effective communication. Understand systems and can analyze, evaluate, and make sound decisions. Manage resources efficiently, including time and materials, to support productive and organized work.
Primary Job Duties
Installation and adjustment of collets and guide bushings
Bar loader set-up and adjustments
Preset/Set tools, able to install tools and measure/set tools.
Able to adjust and set coolant lines
Ability to read the program to understand what each tool is doing (tool paths).
Ability to make offsets to tools
Complete inspection of First Article Parts.
Know and follow the proper procedure for teardowns.
Working knowledge and comprehension of blue prints
Indicate tooling positions
Ability to read and comprehend program and tool paths.
Good understanding of codes used in program.
Working Knowledge of GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Investigate and provide resolution on potential discrepant parts
Calculate feeds and speeds
Trouble shoot both CNC machines and automatic bar loaders
Perform tool changes prior to the end of shift to ensure the machine runs the part within specifications on the off shift.
Update and provide the needed information to support the setup module, quality module and View module.
