Job Summary

We are a 50 year old, small, family owned and operated business in Rochester NY specializing in cutting tool sharpening and grinding. We are looking to fill a position of a CNC Surface/Knife Grinding Machine Operator. Ideal candidate is self-motivated, eager to learn, punctual, reliable, detail oriented, personable and positive.

In this role, you will set up, maintain, and operate CNC German grinding machines. Specific responsibilities of this position include the following:

Main Responsibilities

Prepare and clean parts for grinding

Properly setup machine for grinding cycle

Program machine grinding parameters

Start & finish grinding cycle

Clean, deburr, and hone parts after grinding

Conduct quality check and inspection

Package parts for shipping/delivery

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain clean and organized work environment

Perform routine safety and maintenance checks on machines

Calibrate, adjust settings, and clean machines to ensure good operating conditions

Use precision tools to inspect parts

Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during production

Monitor output to ensure it meets quality control standardsHigh school diploma/GED

Technical certification or degree is preferred but not required

Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred including experience on tool-room manual machines (Milling machine, lathe, band saw, drill press)

Familiarity with industrial machinery and production procedures is preferred

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals

Attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination

Ability to adhere to all safety rules and regulations

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods
