    Job Description

    Are you a rising junior or senior majoring in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and looking for an Internship? CNG Engineering has paid internship opportunities for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Summer Associates. This position will receive hands-on training from our experienced Team Members in software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM Collaborate Pro, and learn the ins and outs of the MEP engineering industry.

    We are a San Antonio-based, professional mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design firm that provides master planning, design and building commissioning services for public and private sector projects across the State of Texas.     DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work closely with Senior Designers and Project Managers to prepare drawing documentation and develop solutions to problems

    • Provide limited design on documents and detail design documents with input from engineers in accordance with project requirements and building codes

    • Assist in creating engineering drawings using REVIT and AutoCAD software

    • Convert redlines to document ready work

    • Create and maintain current drawing folders

    • Attend daily huddles, weekly team meetings, and project team meetings as assigned

    • Various projects and duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

    • Must have a working laptop/computer access, phone access and email
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
    • Exceptional attention to detail

    TECHNOLOGY/COMPUTER EXPERIENCE:

    • Working knowledge in MS Office 10 Pro (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and OneNote)

    • Working knowledge in Revit, and AutoCAD, preferred

    • Working knowledge of BIM Collaborate Pro (formerly BIM 360,) preferred

    • Working knowledge of Bluebeam, preferred

    • Working knowledge in the use of standard office equipment (e.g., copiers, telephone systems, etc.)

    EDUCATION:

    • Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering field and recent graduates will also be considered

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Previous design experience, a plus

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Frequent bending, sitting, stooping, grasping, lifting, and reaching above the shoulder
    • Occasional lifting of 25 lbs.
