3D TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

As the Coast 2 Coast 3D Technical Specialist, major responsibilities include scanning sites using advanced technologies including Faro Terrestrial Laser Scanners, and other 3D reality capture equipment. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this entry level position will support the efforts of the department in day to day operations and will include regular traveling. Major responsibilities include adherence to standard operating procedure, executing scope of work, proactive collaboration and quality assurance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Capture Architectural Data on Location

• Travel across the country documenting property conditions for hotels, retail sites and industrial facilities using 3D laser scanning technologies
• Support clients as they remodel or acquire new properties by capturing existing site conditions in alignment with client guidelines and scope of work
• Read and understand project protocol documents
• Recognize and implement industry-specific and project-specific scope parameters in dynamic environments
• Provide updates and communicate with project managers and survey teams during project lifecycle

Process and Manage Scan Data in Office

• Build 3D point clouds using industry-standard registration software for 3D visualization and modeling purposes
• Utilize strong computer skills and best-practice techniques to efficiently manage large datasets
• Demonstrate proven experience using collaboration platforms, apps and a variety of software
• Responsibly use a variety of scanning equipment, laptops and cameras as well as smartphones and iPads
• Assist with diverse projects by adapting to new scopes, standards, and software

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous job or university experience in this role is preferred
• Strong computer skills and technical aptitude.  Participate in Coast 2 Coast’s learning culture by obtaining skills offered through mentorship and online courses   
• Must be proactive and organized. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with team members to maintain exceptional attention to detail and meet deadlines (utilizing overtime opportunities)
• Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license, willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screening, as well as random screening during employment
