    Superintendents are responsible for leading our electrical teams on the jobsite. Superintendents have a well versed knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and a strong passion for safety, training, leadership development, and commitment to excellence.     MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • EDUCATION: Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent work experience (8,000 hours)

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Demonstrates ability to run projects (2-10 electricians) effectively.
    • Consistently enforces and promotes workplace safety procedures (weekly toolbox talks, weekly safety audits, appropriate documentation, etc.).
    • Consistently completes projects on time, within budget, and in a safe manner.
    • Has a history of managing multiple projects effectively.
    • Demonstrates ability to complete basic paperwork (i.e., foreman logs, performance evaluations, purchase order logs, time cards, etc.) in a timely manner.
    • Maintains compliance with company policies; consults with HR and/or project management to ensure consistent corrective measures are taken and documentation completed.
    • Effectively manages resources (tools, equipment, staffing).
    • Establish expectations and motivates crews to consistently meet or beat goals.
    • Demonstrates ability to obtain, organize, and manage materials effectively and develop as built documentation.
    • Demonstrates excellent customer relations through utilization of effective problem-solving techniques.
    • Forecasts job costs accurately (i.e., labor, material, rental equipment, etc.).

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • Manufacturing and or Mill experience strongly preferred.

     

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    • Must have Journeyman Certificate

    • Must have a 4 year Mechanical or Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent experience

    • Must be able to read and interpret information sheets.

    • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills / repairs.

     

     

    SPECIFIC SKILLS:

    • Must be able to weld steel and stainless steel, and to use cutting torch and to braze.

    • Must be able to use various computer software programs for our production and shipping systems.

    • Must be able to use Maintenance Shop tools and power tools.

    • Job requires working around production equipment while it is in operation and requires climbing ladders and working from girders and scaffolding.

    • Job requires exposure to weather, dirt, grease, fumes and heat.

    • Must have knowledge of methods of lifting heavy equipment, which includes the use of chain blocks, rope blocks, slings, hitches and overhead cranes.

     

    SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

    • FOLLOWS MODE SCHEDULE FOR PLANT, ROTATING SHIFTS (SOUTHERN SWING) AND BE PUNCTUAL WHILE DOING SO.

    • Expected to cover vacancy for absent peers and work overtime.

     

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Standing for extended periods.
    • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
    • Moving or lifting of equipment, materials, and tools up to 50 lbs repeatedly for an 8 hr. shift.
    • Climbing extension ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or movement within

    confined areas.

    • Work in buildings and areas of fluctuating temperature and weather.
