  • Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for ensuring consistent quality & BGA processes by developing and implementing process standards. This person is responsible for overall BGA yield (and other applicable metrics) performance through defining, documenting, and enforcing best practices related to quality & BGA processing with solid results and improvements. This person is also responsible for supporting quality performance related to customers and/or internal processes as assigned. Specifically, the responsibilities of this position include:

    • Define and document detailed BGA process requirements including but not limited to: BGA board creation, BGA profiling, BGA removal, site cleaning, BGA replacement & BGA validation
    • Provide training and evaluate/track training effectiveness and competence of BGA Technicians and supervisors
    • Drive execution on defined processes & requirements including the approval of BGA profiles and x-ray results
    • Define, measure, monitor & communicate BGA Yield performance & applicable metrics and ensure goals are met. Define & implement BGA process data entry requirements and perform data/trend analysis
    • Conduct BGA process audits, internal quality audits & assist with customer audits
    • Identify gaps in process/product deficiencies and lead root cause analysis and drive corrective & preventive actions
    • Communicate and interact with Branches, Programs, Corporate and customers (when needed) on BGA & quality related matters
    • Provide support to Branch BGA process and NPI/program as needed including but not limited to coordinating BGA parts, materials, machine maintenance/calibration and related processes (PKI/S-tester, etc.)
    • Standardize BGA machine selections, processing materials and supplies, and ensure BGA technology is current within the industry
    • Provide support and drive problem solving & continuous improvement on quality matters to key customers & CTDI processes.
    • Other duties/tasks as business needs and/or assigned by the direct manager

    Required Skills

    • Proven skills and knowledge on BGA process technology. Hands-on experience on all BGA related process and matters
    • Expertise involving electronic equipment, diagnostics, and/or electronics repair
    • Ability to read electronic and electrical schematics and machine shop drawings
    • Ability to provide hands-on training to BGA Technicians/Operators
    • Working knowledge of IPC standards with applicable IPC certification (IPC 610 minimum)
    • Strong documentation skills to keep up with best practices.
    • Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills, follow-up skills and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills internally & externally. Ability to create and deliver presentations.
    • Utilization of Corrective Action Methodologies: Root Cause Analysis (e.g., 5Why, Fishbone, etc.), 8D principles, etc.
    • Experienced in Internal Auditing methods (e.g., ISO 9000, TL 9000)
    • Familiarity with Quality Planning practices for New Product Introductions
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point - will need to be able to chart and graph trends, create metrics, and track and monitor data
    • Ability to work independently
    • Must be detail-oriented and a team player
    • Ability to motivate production/quality performances
    • Must be flexible in work duties and schedule
    • Travel up to 40% primarily North America with limited international travel

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience involving electronics manufacturing and/or repair
    • Minimum 3 years direct experience in BGA machine and BGA process.
    • Minimum 5 years of Quality Management experience in an ISO9001 environment
    • Associate Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred (Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering a plus).
    • Experience in problem solving and project management required
    • Experience with Six Sigma/5S/LEAN concepts and environment is a plus
