Utilize science and engineering skills to design products and systems, install and maintain products, and provide a wide range of services, such as implementation of the design, testing, calibration and supervision of its operation
Work with design, product, research and engineering teams to maintain design consistency and coherence across the product as appropriate
Explore many different approaches to solving specific user problems – understands when to deploy logic, creativity, and “out-of-the-box” thinking*
Conduct field research, study detailed analytics, and provide information back to stakeholders
Interact with the hardware team to collaboratively develop an idea into a workable product
Produce drawings from CAD models
Update drawings and models from legacy designs
Take measurements of physical objects and generate CAD models in Solidworks
Interact with suppliers to understand tooling and other manufacturing details to understand modeling impacts
Update and create Bills of Material (BOM)
Research parts required to complete designs and incorporate them into BOM
Assemble parts to aid production, or to better understand design changes
May conduct field research, study detailed analytics, and provide information back to stakeholders
May communicate scenarios, end-to-end experiences, models, and designs to stakeholders in a formal presentation

Required Skills Required Experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering Technology
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
Knowledge of composite part fabrication
Knowledge of Additive manufacturing
Knowledge of CNC machining as it pertains to design rules
Knowledge of design rules for molding processes
Able to produce electrical harness drawings
Able to select mechanical parts from searches, catalogs or selection guides and incorporate into designs.
At least 3 years preparing drawings from models
Proficient producing manufacturable drawings
