Provide Linux Server support for the Regional Network Enterprise Center Central - Redstone (RNECC-R) under the Army Logistics Transformation (ALT) contract.  This position requires a minimum of ten years of IT experience, of which at least eight years must be of directly applicable to this position. 

Primary responsibilities will be to provide Linux server administration on x86 and POWER8 based AESIP production and development systems including design, administration, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, integration, backup/recovery, and optimization of Linux servers. 

• This System Administrator will work in a team environment and will be one of multiple Linux resources.
• These functions include ensuring the availability of applications, developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment, and maintaining compliance with the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) using approved scanning tools.
• The environment includes equipment from IBM, HP, Dell, Brocade and Cisco. This hardware houses multiple applications from SAP utilizing Oracle as the database.
• This program supports users in multiple locations throughout the globe; therefore some afterhours work will be required.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR POSITION

• Red Hat Linux Administration (v6.x, 7.x)
• Ability to work independently on complex technical tasks.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• CompTIA Security+ CE Certification Required

IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE THE FOLLOWING

• Experience working in a DoD environment
• Ability to work with limited supervision, be a self-starter, and able to work in a team environment
• Experience with Symantec Netbackup and SAN administration
• Previous experience supporting SAP applications and Oracle databases on Linux
• Linux Certification
• BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience
