    General Summary: Army Metering Program Network Engineer

    Under limited direction, the AMP Network Engineer is responsible for optimization of a customer’s energy program's metering and control systems, and for training Energy Specialists on those systems. The Network Engineer works with Network Enterprise Centers (NEC) to troubleshoot and resolve Army Metering Program network issues. The FRS will:

    *Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions)

    • Troubleshoot networks including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls
    • Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission of Army metering program data
    • Analyze local and wide area network systems including VLANs
    • Resolve non-routine AMP network interoperability problems
    • Configure communication media with Building Point of Contact (BPOC)s, routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices on AMP network
    • Participate in planning, researching, evaluating, designing, and developing plans for network systems
    • Conduct internal studies and research
    • Assist in the support acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
    • Provide technical support to various departments and users

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 8 years of work related experience
    • SECRET security clearance required; US citizenship required
    • Ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and findings
    • Willing to travel within the continental U.S.
    • Familiarity with remote access systems and network management systems

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting Army Networks
    • Experience working with Network Enterprise Centers (NEC)
