We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join COLSA's Corporate IT Department. This position is not associated with any specific government contract and is fully funded. The selected candidate will be a member of the corporate IT department supporting all COLSA personnel, systems and networks.
- Performs complex technical support of local, wide area and cloud-based networks to include planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating solutions.
- Assists in planning, deploying and supporting solutions leveraging Microsoft server and Windows desktops, Microsoft Office 365, Cisco and Palo Alto networking, VoIP systems, VMWare, as well as wireless networking solutions.
- Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems*
- Monitors network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission*
- Analyzes local and wide area network systems, to include testing*
- Resolves complex interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms *
- Configures communication media with routers, switches, firewalls and other devices
- Configures routine systems to user environments
- Participates in planning, researching, evaluating, designing and developing plans for network systems
- Conducts internal studies and research
- Supports acquisition of hardware and software, as well as, subcontractor services as needed
- Provides technical support to various departments and users
- Serves as liaison with vendors and other third-party providers
- May serve as technical lead for lower level employees
- May assist in proposal prep for new solutions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors’ degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of related experience
- Experience in working with a wide variety of enterprise IT systems.
- Experience with VOIP solutions to include Cisco CallManager/UCS and/or Microsoft Voice
- Proficient in supporting a Microsoft computing environment and working knowledge of a wide variety of Microsoft, Cisco and Palo Alto solutions.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable briefing management, speaking to large groups and leading training events.
- US Citizenship required. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
