Housing and Resource Liaison - AmeriCorps VISTA Member
POSITION OVERVIEW
To help ensure that every family has access to affordable, accessible housing and resources to end the cycle of poverty, the member will build the capacity of Communities First, Inc. by developing key communication tools, supporting the work of the organization in the Continuum of Care and recruiting volunteers to serve families in poverty. The position is through AmeriCorps and Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness.
The term dates are January 2022 - December 2022. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours/week minimum.
OBJECTIVES
The selected member would be responsible for:
Communicating the organization’s work and that of partners focused on anti-poverty and ending homelessness in order to increase awareness and engagement.
Supporting the work of Communities First, Inc. as a member of the Flint/Genesee County Continuum of Care, which is focused on ending homelessness, to increase the scope, effectiveness, and efficiency of the organization and partner organizations.
Increasing the number of volunteers for the organization for programs that assist low to moderate income families.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
The position pays a living stipend of $575.40 bi-weekly stipend (pre-tax) or $15,002 for the year.
Upon completion: Segal Education Award of $6,345 (for federal student loans or eligible cost of attendance) or cash stipend of $1,800
Host site provided housing stipend of $200/month (paid directly to the landlord or mortgage)
