  • Responsibilities

    The Senior Network Architect is a very hands-on technical position responsible for the maintenance, design, implementation and expansion of our server and network infrastructure.

     

    The position supports a 24x7x365 environment that has a very low tolerance for planned or unplanned downtime. Therefore, all systems require redundancy and resiliency wherever possible. Experience in this kind of environment is important. The ideal candidate will be one who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a growing, successful company.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Emphasis on network design and configuration in daily responsibility
    • Design, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot servers and SAN environments
    • Design, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot routers, switches and firewalls
    • Work closely with customers, business units, and third party providers
    • Design and build customer network connections
    • Manage multiple projects and effectively communicate updates and results to peers, supervisors, and stakeholders
    • Make recommendations on hardware/software purchases for the server environment to help fulfill business needs
    • Dependable, reliable and predictable attendance is required
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Minimum ten (10) years network engineer experience
    • CCNP preferred
    • Palo Alto certification preferred
    • Experience with network monitoring and metric applications (SNMP, syslog), troubleshooting, analysis, and sniffer technologies
    • Energy industry experience is a plus
    • Active Directory
    • Linux (RHEL preferred)
    • Palo Alto Firewalls
    • VXLAN Experience
    • BGP Experience
    • VPN (IPSEC and SSL) experience
    • Cisco Phone system experience
    • Fiber channel SAN experience
    • Cisco Routers and Switches
    • Fortinet Firewalls
    • Proficiency in Internet, networking and routing protocols and technologies at all layers is required
