    OVERVIEW: The HR Associate will be responsible for many of the day-to-day functions of the department, including maintaining human resources information system, overseeing employee relations, benefits coordination, worker's compensation, and recruiting. This individual will need to have great organization skills, be attentive to detail, strong communication skills, be tech savvy and know how to handle confidential information.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • HRIS program: review and ensure that new hire and change of notice documents are filled out correctly, review I9s and run E-verify. 
    • Maintain HRIS and follow up on documents needed.
    • Keep up with applicable employment, labor, and workplace safety laws and regulations
    • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
    • Develop and implement new employment/HR/workplace safety policies and procedures or update to current policies and procedures as needed or per most recent laws and regulations
    • Review, appeal as needed, record and file EDD claims
    • Oversee background checks processing
    • Manage and complete employment verification for employees
    • Assist with the hiring process including drafting job postings, scheduling interviews, preparing new hire documents.
    • Conduct employee orientation, development, and training for employees.
    • Analyze data and written documents to determine causes of personnel issues and develop recommendations for improvement of personnel’s organization
    • Work with managers to make timely reports of worker's compensation-related claims and be a liaison between employees and worker's compensation department
    • Provide benefits-related information to eligible employees and answer pertinent questions

    COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 3+ years of related HR experience required
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

    • Graduate with a bachelor’s degree required

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now
