    OVERVIEW:  The M&A Analyst will primarilyprepare financial assessments of potential veterinary hospital acquisitions. Thisposition will report to the Director of M&A and work with the Controller toprovide insightful analysis of investment opportunities to the executive teamincluding the CFO and CEO. The ability to provide an organized and insightfulanalysis of acquisition opportunities as well as the ability to effectivelycommunicate the progress and status of various deals to the Director of M&Aand the Controller will be a critical part of this role. Additionally, the M&AAnalyst will provide a pivotal role in improving deal flow, including participationin the implementation of a CRM solution. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare evaluations of new investment opportunities for their risks and possible returns, driven by detailed financial analysis
    • Maintain and streamline the “Pre-LOI” model used in the evaluation of investment opportunities
    • Contribute to the implementation of improvements to the acquisition tracking process detailing all phases of the business development and valuation process
    • Participate in discussion regarding proposed deal structures across a variety of hospital investments
    • Preparation of deal flow statistics in order to improve and streamline deal flow
    • Gain a comprehensive understanding of a target’s business operations and its risks, including the major drivers of revenue and costs
    • Identify performance gaps and potential improvement opportunities (cost reductions and revenue enhancements)
    • Prepare deal summary presentations submitted to executive team and sellers
    • Contribute to the evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities and strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, investments, divestitures, and strategic projects and partnerships

    COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

    • 3 years of experience in finance related to Business Development, FP&A, and/or Financial Reporting
    • Experience with an acquisition intensive company preferred
    • Effective multi-tasking capability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline driven, start-up environment a plus
    • Proven self-starter with business acumen and analytical, quantitative, accounting, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to think critically and creatively
    • Experience with multisite healthcare or retail businesses a plus
    • Experience working with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies a plus
    • Experience in the Veterinary industry a plus

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other quantitative concentration; MBA, CFA, and/or CPA preferred

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    • Valid driver license

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
    • Comfortable working in Microsoft Office
    • Smartsheet and CRM experience a plus
