Responsibilities Include:
· Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify mental health needs, conditions, and medical histories.
· Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Diagnose psychiatric conditions and mental health disorders based on assessments. Develop individualized care plans, considering both medication and psychotherapy treatment options.
· Medication Management: Prescribe and manage medications, monitor their effectiveness, and make necessary adjustments.
· Patient Education and Advocacy: Educate patients and their families about mental health and wellness, treatment plans, managing medication side effects, and coping strategies. Advocate for patient rights and preferences.
· Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals including physicians, psychologists, social workers, and psychiatric nurses, to ensure a comprehensive care approach.
· Follow-Up Care: Conduct regular follow-ups with patients to assess their mental health, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
· Maintain Patient Records: Document patient information, treatment plans, and interventions in the patient’s medical record in accordance with established procedures.
· Continuing Education: Keep up to date with the latest developments in the field of psychiatry through ongoing professional development and education.
· Ketamine Therapy: Willingness to be trained and administer Spravato Nasal Spray protocols for pharmaceutical resistant depression treatment.
Qualifications:
· Education and Certification: Master's degree or Doctorate in nursing from an accredited nursing school. Must be certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
· License: Must have an active Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state where they practice.
· Experience: Clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, ideally within a similar healthcare setting.
· Skills: Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills; good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team; compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
