    Job Summary

    The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the project site and ensuring the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. The Superintendent coordinates subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors while maintaining clear communication with the project team.

    Alteration of an existing two-story building and construction of eight additional single-story drive-up buildings in Newburgh, NY.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Project Planning & Management

    Develop and implement project schedules and work plans.

    Coordinate and supervise all construction activities on-site.

    Ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and quality standards.

    Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to stay on schedule and within budget.

    Site Supervision

    Oversee and manage all site personnel, including subcontractors and laborers.

    Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety meetings.

    Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.

    Coordination & Communication

    Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

    Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all project participants.

    Address and resolve issues or conflicts that arise during construction.

    Quality Control

    Ensure all work is performed to the highest standards of quality.

    Conduct regular inspections to verify construction meets project specifications.

    Identify and correct deficiencies in workmanship or materials.

    Documentation & Reporting

    Maintain accurate project documentation including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.

    Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, including schedule and budget updates.

    Ensure all required permits and inspections are obtained and properly documented.

    Qualifications

    Prior self-storage construction experience required.

    Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role.

    Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.

    Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

    Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

    Proficiency with project management software and construction management tools.

    Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Knowledge of OSHA and construction safety regulations.

    Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

    Education & Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

    Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision or management.

    Relevant certifications such as OSHA or PMP are a plus.

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to work in various weather conditions.

    Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout an active construction site for extended periods.
