We are looking for an experienced Drafter / Building Designer with many successfully completed residential projects under their belt. The majority of projects you will be involved in are additions, complex remodels, ADUs, but occasionally you may be assigned to ground-up and light commercial projects as well. You will be working hand in hand with our support team, who will provide you with detailed as-built plans and take care of 3D modeling, and Project manager, who will handle the client communications.
Your role is to design conceptual drawings in collaboration with client’s rep and Project manager and complete full permit sets (together with assigned structural engineer) that breeze through the permitting process (or, at least, get approved without too many hiccups).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce detailed plans on-time, meeting specific standards, building codes, and guidelines
Maintain a high quality work product
Collaborate with the team to standardize processes and drafting details
Continually improve the scalability of our products and services
Maintain positive relationships with the team, clients, outside vendors and permit officials
Provide (and receive) quality-control plan checks for other draftspersons' drawings, marking items that need to be corrected
Work collaboratively with PM’s on change order handling
Other duties may be assigned as required
REQUIREMENTS:
5 years of professional residential architecture/drafting experience
Technical knowledge of building systems, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
Excellent drafting skills
Proficiency with Chief Architect X12 and above
Strong written communication skills
