    Job Description

    MEDIATION COORDINATOR--FULL TIME

    Good Shepherd Mediation Services, a community justice center located in Philadelphia, PA, was established in 1984 with a mission to encourage peace, reconciliation, and social justice. Good Shepherd Mediation Services' goal is to empower people to resolve conflicts.

    Good Shepherd Mediation has an exciting opportunity for a Mediation Coordinator to manage intake, scheduling, case management, monitoring, and follow-up of all mediation services; volunteer coordination; record keeping and reporting; and outreach, as needed.

    Duties include:

    • Conduct intake interviews with individuals who request mediation services, including mediations, circle processes, victim-offender conferences and other dialogue processes.
    • Receive referrals from partner organizations and reach out to referred individuals.
    • Invite responding parties to mediation.
    • Refer parties to community resources, as appropriate.
    • Schedule all mediations and assign mediators (volunteer or staff).
    • Follow-up with mediation participants one to three months after mediation.
    • Serve as primary contact for volunteer mediators.
    • Maintain contact information and clearances for all volunteers.
    • Assist with volunteer recruitment and training.
    • Maintain service statistics and prepare reports as needed.
    • Assist with program outreach.

    HOURLY RATE: $17 - $19 (based on experience)

    QUALIFIED APPLICANTS SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Previous intake experience at a nonprofit preferred.
    • Previous experience in conflict resolution, mediation and/or restorative justice preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and case management skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, volunteers, partners and personnel from other agencies.
    • Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Word & Excel;Ability to learn and use new technology tools.
    • Enthusiasm for the mediation process and loyalty to the goals and objectives of GSMP.
