Job Title: RN – Correctional

Job Description:

The Correctional Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to incarcerated individuals within a secure correctional facility. The RN assesses patient needs, responds to medical emergencies, administers medications, and ensures all care meets correctional healthcare and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Perform nursing assessments and triage inmate health concerns.

Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations as ordered.

Respond promptly to urgent and emergent medical situations.

Assist with chronic care management and routine sick calls.

Document all patient care in accordance with facility and state requirements.

Collaborate with physicians, mental health providers, and custody staff.

Maintain strict safety, security, and infection-control protocols.

Requirements:

Active RN license in the state of assignment.

Previous correctional or acute care experience preferred.

Current BLS certification required.

Strong assessment, communication, and crisis-management skills.
