    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Camp Coordinator's responsibilities will be to directly supervise camp counselors and children, while planning, administering and evaluating the camp program and staff. This is a seasonal full-time position. 

    KEY ATTRIBUTES:

    • Ability to lead others in sometimes adverse conditions

    • Exhibit sound judgment according to YMCA  and American Camping Association standards
    • Value and model the YMCA core values of caring, responsibility, respect, honesty and faith.  
    • Exhibits professionalism and loyalty to the program while providing excellent customer service to camp attendees

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create positive connections with camp parents, staff and campers.
    • Oversee camp operations and provide daily decision making related to camp success within the allotted budget.
    • Assist in interviewing, training, supervision and evaluation of all Gymnastics camp staff.
    • Manage record-keeping and documentation
    • Must have knowledge of all emergency procedures and be prepared to teach and coach staff on these topics; retain safety as the number one priority for all attendees.  Report any safety issues to Buildings and Grounds or Risk Management.
    • Assist in maximizing attendance by calling off of waiting list and advertising
    • Oversee the whereabouts of all camp groups at all times.
    • Plan a variety of fun and exciting activities; demonstrate preparedness at the start of each day.
    • Assist in ordering supplies and maintain current equipment in good working order.
    • Attend all camp staff meetings.
    • Attend all trainings as required by the Director.
    • Complete all housekeeping duties as described by the Director.
    • Preserve all supplies and equipment for the Summer Program.
    • Assist in Scholarship Fund Raising activities
    • Other duties as assigned

    Rate of pay:  $10.00/hour

    Qualifications

    21 years of age 

    Professional CPR and First aid

    Basic computer knowledge
