    Job Description

    CP is immediately seeking a CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR/COSTING ENGINEER for our St. Louis client - 12 MONTHS

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The Cost Engineer will support a number of engineering capital projects
    • Largest project is an $80 million dollar construction project 
    • Seamless 2 way communication with site Finance department
    • Create weekly/monthly budget reports for Engineering Department
    • Prepare capital and cash flow forecasts/trending
    • Ensure accruals are entered as required
    • Ensure alignment with financial procedures and policies
    • Review finance impact of project changes
    • Review WBS and related spending
    • Ensure tax requirements are met
    • Support project estimating
    • Work directly with 3rd party Construction Manager
    • Complete initial project cost estimation plus actuals comparisons   daily/weekly/monthly
    • Cost reports and trending
    • Monitor any foreign currency impacts
    • Prepare all CPAs (capital project budget requests) - Ensure CPAs include all costs
    • Manage all change orders and their effect on the budget
    • Collect Lien Waivers
    • Review invoices/invoice reconciliation
    • Arrange for progress payments
    • Assess material deliveries claimed
    • Determine when work is complete enough to pay suppliers

     

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BACHELOR’S DEGREE  IN BUSINESS/FINANCE, ENGINEERING OR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
    • MUST HAVE AT LEAST 5 – 7 YEARS’ OF PROJECT COST CONTROLS EXPERIENCE WITHIN A MANUFACTURING OR CONSTRUCTION ENVIRONMENT
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
    • Ability to be flexible, resilient, and adaptable to changing priorities in a fast paced, high pressure environment
    • Must have the ability to work effectively under strict production, time and performance deadlines
    • Must have the ability to simultaneously multi-task across multiple capabilities and functions and handle multiple competing priorities and requirements, including performing site and functional responsibilities, responding to frequent e-mail and phone communications and attending multiple meetings and conference calls
    • Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce
