Job Description
General Construction Bookkeeper
We are a small, yet fast-growing local company seeking a detail-oriented and proactive bookkeeper who has experience in construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial aspects of various projects, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This position requires strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of financial accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities
· Utilize accounting software QuickBooks online to maintain accurate financial records
· Oversee financial operations including, but not limited to, AR/AP, Job costing, and monthly reconciliation of various accounts
· Prepare financial statements and all supporting schedules (Balance Sheet, Profit and loss, Work in Progress Statement, etc.)
· Prepare construction payment applications and other invoices as required by contracts
· Track costs and expenses for each construction project, and ensure that costs are within budget
· Ability to process payroll and certified payroll
· Maintain historical records by filing documents
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing tasks as needed
Job Requirements
· Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
· CPA license is preferred, but not required
· Proficiency in QuickBooks online and excel
· Strong understanding of accounting principles
· Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
· Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Schedule and salary
· Monday to Friday – flexible schedule -part time expecting 12-20 hours per week with potential for full time
· Salary based on experience
