Plant Controller - Salt Lake City, UT

Role Overview:
As our Plant Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in our continuous improvement environment. Your responsibilities will encompass raw material accounting, loss & labor analysis, inventory control, fixed asset accounting, spare parts management, cost control, and internal controls. You'll also lead a team of 2 direct reports and ensure an efficient monthly close process, rolling forecasts, and annual strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor weekly key performance indicators, ensuring accuracy and providing insights to drive business decisions.
- Track and analyze operational productivity projects, identifying variances and benchmarking against other locations.
- Lead plant cost accounting functions, including month-end close, variance analysis, and report preparation.
- Collaborate with plant and HQ teams to prepare and analyze budgets and forecasts.
- Enhance financial controls and processes to bridge gaps.
- Administer plant internal controls, coordinate audits, and support tax audits.
- Review monthly reconciliations for corporate consolidation.
- Proficiently extract data from SAP for analysis.
- Create and maintain SOPs, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with various plant departments and manage local procurement processes.
- Lead special projects and drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- ERP systems experience, preferably SAP.
- Management experience over direct reports.
- Excellent attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and adaptability.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Resilient, proactive, and anticipates business needs.
Compensation:
- Salary: $135,000 - $150,000 per year.
- Performance-based bonus: 18%.
