    The Warehouse/Logistics Manager is responsible for warehouse operational performance and customer service for food and beverage facility operating 2 shifts 6 days a week.  As a member of the Plant Operations Team, the Warehouse Manager will provide strategic vision and tactical direction for cold storage, dry storage, and 3rd party logistics utilization. Provide guidance to direct reports, hold responsibility for assuring efficient inventory levels and space availability to support Enterprise demand, improved order fill rates, understands 3rd party contracts and can educate to leverage for improved cost performance, and can influence the evolution of customer service for a competitive industry advantage. 

    The role will partner closely across the organization and with other members of the Corporate Supply Chain Leadership Team, including the Director of Demand Planning, the Sr. Director of Customer Logistics and Distribution, the Director of Co-Manufacturing as well as the field Plant Leadership Team to develop, implement, maintain, and improve warehouse operations and elevate customer service performance.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead the efforts of the warehouse team, to include implementing strategies, objectives, and priorities; with the goal of optimizing the warehouse operations in terms of costs and efficiencies
    • Ensure tight linkage to the broader Supply Chain, enterprise and key customer priorities
    • Ensure that strong food safety considerations are built into key cross-functional processes from forecasting (day’s supply) through on time customer delivery
    • Understand and be able to communicate to the organization heightened regulatory expectations for ambient and cold storage operations that may influence supply chain operations
    • Identify areas of performance opportunity and develop, simplify, and optimize the warehouse programs
    • Transform data into meaningful information and define activities that will drive improvement in warehouse operations
    • Interact effectively at all levels within the organization and influence key stakeholders
    • Grow and develop plant warehouse talent by providing new competencies, coaching and training
    • Investigate and correct warehousing issues that may negatively impact product availability through investigations, troubleshooting, policy/program review, program implementation, and operational assessments
    • Monitor and report compliance to Days in Inventory targets and sku balance that influences case fill, order fill and customer satisfaction; implement corrective actions to remedy out of compliance
    • Interact with Demand Planning and Production regarding warehousing concerns (over/under inventory, space/asset availability, distressed product, co-manufacturing or labor) analyze trends and recommend necessary action
    • Interface with Transportation and Customer Logistics to elevate performance in the areas of inventory accuracy, customer delivery, product placement and replenishment
    • Assure that plant is audit- and inspection- ready at all times
    • Stay current with all key regulatory and certifying agency guidelines
    • Provides direct supervision and coaching to subordinates, including making hiring/firing recommendations, providing training and development opportunities, and conducting performance reviews and development sessions.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience preferred
    • 5+ years Manufacturing/Distribution experience required, preferably in food/beverage manufacturing with emphasis on Warehousing (Ambient & Cold), Transportation and Material Handling
    • Combination of education, experience or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required is acceptable
    • Demonstrated process improvement in warehouse setting
    • Goal and results-driven leader with working SAP, eCommerce/EDI experience
    • Strong inventory management experience with emphasis on customer service
    • Understanding of warehouse tasks that incorporates internal/external operations put away and pick strategies, warehouse layout 

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Must be a leader, able to motivate others, able to recognize areas of need across the company and tackle projects independently
    • Must possess exceptional spreadsheet, word processing and database computer skills
    • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Must have excellent recordkeeping and documentation skills
    • Ability to work under deadlines
