    Summary        

    Reporting directly to the President, the Associate Vice President, Information Systems is responsible for the global management, strategy and execution of the organization’s Information Technology infrastructure for all locations and functions. The company is a vertically integrated manufacturer of piston engine products that it sells both direct and through distribution requiring high reliability of its ERP/MRP, CRM and general IT systems.  The company utilizes a combination of local networks with primary network capability operated from the Cloud as maintained by a contracted third-party system and service provider.  The position, therefor, has primary responsibility to oversee the company’s Information Technology provider. 

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    ·        Oversight of this small cap, global company’s and divisions main and supporting IT service provider to ensure performance and maximum customer service to the internal customers.

    ·        Maximize IT system reliability, up time and capabilities while maintaining cost discipline.

    ·        Work directly with the company’s IT provider on the selection and execution of various company initiatives.

    ·        Develops, maintains and regularly updates a multi-year IT plan related to the company’s and operating divisions’ operating systems, ERP/MRP systems, CRM systems, and IT platforms, as well as staying current in IT trends and advancements.

    ·        Leadership of 24/7 support services to insure quick resolution of all IT related work interruptions.

    ·        Work closely with all profit and functional teams and the executive team to deliver optimum service, maintain costs, determine areas of improvement, and support initiatives driven by the company’s balanced scorecard.

    ·        Supports all divisions of the company regarding strategic software and IT initiatives.

    ·        Performs cost analysis on IT projects and makes collaborative decisions along with other department leaders.

    ·        Ensures IT Service Providers exceeds all contracted service levels.

    ·        Provide project management for all software and hardware updates and initiatives.

    ·        Support operational and functional area evaluations of annual IT needs and budgets.

     

     

    Skills Required:                                                                     

     

    ·        Computer/Technical/Project experience in ERP/MRP system for a manufacturing environment with systems such as Macola by Exact, SAP, Oracle, or similar.

    ·        Network management within a multi-site company environment.

    ·        Project Management and Budgeting.

    ·        Programming and Application Development Experience to support oversight of such projects.

    ·        Network and system security management.

    ·        Operation and management of cloud sourced networks.

    ·        Microsoft SharePoint and Cloud Services.

    ·        Data system management.

     

    Education and/or Experience Required:

    ·       Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in information systems, information technology or similar degrees and 7-10 years’ equivalent experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master’s degree is desired.

    ·       Experience in managing a budget and IT department is strongly preferred.

    ·       Demonstrated experience in a complex software system implementation at either the project management or leadership level.

     

     

    Other Abilities Required:

    ·       Strong leadership and communication skills and ability to maintain positive internal/external relationships.

    ·       Background in a manufacturing environment (automotive, aviation preferred) 

    ·       Excellent communication skills and the ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and other groups.

    ·       Ability to complete problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

    ·       Ability to motivate high performance teams and be a strong team player.  Must be committed to company values.

    ·       Demonstrated consultative approach to building business relationships and recommending best courses of actions while gaining commitment from parties with differing opinions and positions.

    ·       Additional foreign language abilities a plus (German, Chinese).

     

    Travel Requirements:

    Ability to travel internationally with little to no notice.
