Job Description

Based in New York, the Manager will report to the Managing Director, Head of New York Office and will support both the Head of New York Office and Senior Advisor, US Relationships in implementing CPP Investments’ strategy and business plan in the Eastern United States.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Direct and dedicated support for the Head of New York Office and Senior Advisor, US Relationships and assisting them in delivering their mandate and objectives
• Office Oversight:
  • Develop and enhance processes to facilitate optimal information flow and sharing between departments to drive growth
  • Coordination of facility and office services functions in the New York office while participating in cross-functional initiatives to support global strategy
  • Responsible for financial analysis of the CPP Investments’ portfolio with respect to regional activities
  • Conduct analysis, preparation, and monitoring of annual business plan and budget
  • Implement CPP Investments-wide initiatives in coordination with CPP Investments’ global teams
• Relationship Management and Brand Building:
  • Provide support in relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders through conducting industry and company specific research;
  • Research, identify and assess potential sectors of interest and partners for investing across multiple areas of investment;
  • Communicate CPP Investments’ mandate to senior business partners, senior government officials, media and other external stakeholders while providing support at key industry, regulatory and public relations events; preparing briefing materials, summarizing meetings and key follow up items as needed;
  • Coordinate advisory relationships across the office, in cooperation with investment departments;
  • Strengthen CPP Investments’ position as an international trusted brand of choice
• Work on special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance
• 8-10 years experience in the finance industry (e.g. investment banking, consulting, professional services, asset management Business Management and/or Operations roles)
• Familiarity with and interest in investing and financial markets
• Exceptional written communication skills; must structure communication effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment
• Expert Microsoft Office skills, in particular PowerPoint
• Exceptional verbal communication and relationship building skills
• Ability to understand and interpret data and analytics at a high level
• Ability to manage meetings and support relationships at the most senior level in organizations
• Proven ability to work independently as well as to perform effectively in a team
• Has an entrepreneurial sense
