You will be collaborating with Verification, Logic, Physical Designers and EDA to help deliver the next IBM Power Microprocessor. This position is open to aspiring new or experienced logic designers.

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Systems Division has an opening for an experienced Logic Designer to support our hardware and semiconductor products. You will be responsible for defining the digital circuitry of future Power Processors, Our Logic Design position is an interdisciplinary role focusing on:

• Developing new processor hardware architectures and micro architectures using state-of-the-art logic design techniques

• Deep understanding of timing and design convergence techniques across logic and functional design

• Prototype innovative ideas with respect to hardware and software co-optimization.

• Displaying strong communication skills

• Willingness and prior experience working with a global team across multiple time zones.

Ideal candidates will possess strong logic design implementation. Team-based experience in logic design and working knowledge of Industry standard RTL implementation and its impact on pre/post silicon verification and physical implementation.

• Work with stakeholders and others in a multidisciplinary team to define requirements and develop the solution

• Development, RTL implementation and ownership of microprocessor components.

• Working across functional team, refining CPU designs, documenting design updates and communicating work progress.

ABOUT THE TEAM

This Austin based team is composed of IBM’s best logic design engineers who designs IBM’s Power Processors, responsible for servicing some of the most important workloads in the world.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• A minimum of 1+ years of experience in Logic development, RTL design, VHDL base designs

• Demonstrated experience in Processor Design, Cache Hierarchy implementation

• Exposure to industry microprocessor designs

• Knowledge of computer architecture and system interconnect protocols

• Ability to work well in a team and be productive under aggressive schedules

• Strong communication skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Inter discipline design experience covering logic design, physical design, verification

• Knowledge of Power architecture
